He'll be missed

President Hinkley passed away yesterday, although I'm saddened by the news, I am glad he is now with his beloved wife again. I have been a member of the church since 1986, and he has always been there, he will be missed...

He was the Prophet, Seerer and Revelator for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a great man. The following link is from Deseret News about the man and his life.

My new obsession

My new obsession in the cyberworld is goodreads.com. I love it, it's similar to myspace, in that you have "friends" on your account and you can see what books they've read and there comments on them and ratings as well on the books. It is just loads of fun, racking my brain around what books I have read, and which ones I want to read in the future, because of someones comment or rating of a particular book.

So if you don't already know of goodreads, go check it out!

my next book I want to read, the time traverler's wife, it looks really good!! ohh, and also the book club book, gotta find out what that is... at least before next months meeting.

In addition to goodreads, I made a 92(!!) on my quiz today in Physiology! Now I have to start studing for my midterm...

Here's the truth folks

So most of ya'll know Josh is gone and the kids and I are for the most part doing just fine, their's the occasional and normal difficuties with the kids behavior and outburst at sometimes inconvient times but none the less, life is for the most part normal.

Having written that, I'm terrified, absolutely petrified every second of every day, that something is going to happen to my husband. While sleeping, I dream about it, while doing laundry I'm on the verge of tears just putting his clothes away. I ofcourse can't let the kids see me cry or break down because what would they think, ofcourse being kids they would think something horrible has or will happen and I don't want them to feel that way, just because I have this overactive imagination that I'm cursed, that people I really love die, that something is going to happen to Josh...

here are the facts though, 2 sisters, all grandparents including step grandparents except 1 are gone, mom, dad, and step dad, passed away. With the exception of very few people I don't have much family left, Josh and my kids are mine and I worry, needlessly all the time for them.

so there it is, everyone keeps asking how I am, well I'm a mess really, but I'm trying to hold it together.

my son's inheritance

Some people will inherit their mom's green eyes, or their dad's smile. Some will even say, he looks so much like your great grandpa Joe, or Grandma Eileen. My kids and one in particular inherited something else.

I feel like Collin has the determination and stamina and TEMPER of all of my side and Josh's side of the family. He is more stubborn than any other child I've met in a while and is determined to do what he wants to do! While these aren't altogether bad characteristics to inherit, I only wish he had a little less...

My 1st week without Josh

Well, Josh officially left on Saturday. The kids and I went to Perrysburg on Thursday to see him off, on Friday there was a going a way ceremony (which I have pictures to post for them when I get them...). The ceremony was very patriotic and emotional, there were hundreds of soldiers leaving and hundreds and hundreds of family members and friends saying Goodbye to them. Leah (my mother in law) and Kayla (my sister in law), Jon (her husband) and Jordan (my neice) all came up too for the ceremony. We had a great time after the ceremony where everyone except for Leah (who'd gone home), Kayla and Josh, went swimming. Their was a huge indoor pool that connected with the outside, so you could swim under a tunnel and get to the outside pool, and steam would be coming off of the pool because the heat hitting the cool air, it was neat. Josh also saved someone on Friday, he saw a little kid drowning and jumped in, fully dressed, and pulled the boy out!! He is truely my hero!!

This week has been alright, I guess. It really hasn't felt any different yet. Josh was gone a lot with work and school and side projects, so this week so far has felt like anyother, except at night when I hear every crick of the floor and have the phone laying beside me, "just in case." The kids so far have been ok, Clay cried on Saturday that he didn't kiss his dad goodbye, and that he was very sad about him being gone but has since been pretty good. Cregan has been acting out, with talking back and hitting me when things don't go there way, but I've been trying to nip that in the bud, and everytime the door opens or the dog barks that someone is at the door, Collin says "daddy, daddy".
