OSU Baseball

A couple of weeks ago now, geez time flies, the boys and I went to a OSU baseball game. My good friend Crystal, who's husband is also gone, went with our friend Carolynn. We had a blast, the kids got to go out on the field in the beginning of the game, during the National Anthem, and they had a inflatable slide and Brutus in the ballpark and because the National Guard was having a military appreciation day, they provided lunch and fun stuff like a rock climbing wall and basketball games for the kids. Turned out to be a super fun day.

Good News Minute!!

In Relief Society, at church, we always have a good news minute, the women who have good news share it with the rest of us. So this is my version of good news minute!!

I have FINALLY gotten my acceptance letter for Nursing school, I'm super psyched about it, I applied last year and didn't get in, it's a long story there... but I'm in school NOW. I start in the fall, I'll be going mostly still part-time. One of the good things about having a degree already, you don't have hardly any classes, but core to take, I still have to take my Microbiology and maybe, if I don't start studing and stop blogging anyother class of Pathophysiology...

The letter couldn't have come at a more oppurtune (maybe be misspelled, but you know what I mean) day. Yesterday, was my mom's birthday, this year will be 7 years since she's passed away, and I miss her desperately still. So when I looked at the calender yesterday, I expected it to be the 16th or something like that, I know, I know, but I'm a stay at home mom, what do I need to know the date for, so when I see it's the 20th, I have the rushing sensation of pure sadness run all over me. My friend who popped in to say hi, caught me in the midst of my sadness and the lovely lady left and came back with a Diet Coke (god bless you Sophie!!) and later her husband brought me chocolate chip cookies (Mike you really are a great baker). And then I got the news about school and it made the day not so bad.

A belated...

This is my belated entry, the one I should have written about my Mother's Day.. I started the day in grumpy mood. My pity party started when I had no breakfast in bed, I lay there, whining to myself, why, oh, why don't I have my husband here to cook for me, blah, blah blah. It went on and on until Clay and Cregan stated they were hungry and wanted ceral. So I slumped out of bed, dragged myself to the kitchen, got all the kids feed, sat on my bed and thinking what am I going to wear today for church, nothing fits, I'm so fat, another notch in the bad day slump I was in, when I hear a noise in the dining room, I'm thinking, great the boys are already fighting, what could they possibly be fighting about, they've only been up for 10min...

Then they come running in, each with a special thing made from school and telling me Happy Mother's Day! Imagine that, what a blessing, these little guys bring me so much joy.

Latter that week, I got a knock on the door, it was FedEx with a delivery from Josh, it was a dozen red roses.

I've been tagged

It's finally happened, I've been tagged, I was wondering when it would happen, the anticipation was killing me, I'm so glad that the stress of being tagged is over... I'm being totally and utterly sarcastic here folks, it's a defensive mechanism because I have to actually put down in writing a few things that I can't live with out. And, unlike my good friend who tagged me running shoes were not the first thing to mind, sadly folks, it was Chipotle.... I know, I know, you say to yourselves, there's your spouse, your children, family, friends, and this is what pops to mind. What can I say, I have a soft spot (and a soft belly) for the restaurant. However on further inspection of my thoughts, I found it wasn't the only thing I couldn't live without, it didn't even make the top 5.

5. Caffenine/Sleep- I've combined the 2 because if I have one I usually don't need much of the other. However without either, I'm useless and not my nice, chipper self, in fact you may not recognize me at all, but if you see a slightly insane looking woman with brown hair and blond highlights with 3 boys about to pull out her hair and/or on the verge of screaming, ask her, have you had your #5 today?

4. Girlfriends- I have friends from years ago and friends from months ago, I have poured my heart out to them, and cried on their shoulders. I've had girlfriends sit with me through immense grief in my life and cheer me on through immense happiness. Girlfriends, understand things that spouses just can't, and I'm so blessed to have them in my life.

3. Gospel - Without the Gospel in my life, I am pretty sure I would be on Maury or Jerry Springer, I would be living a life, that was considered "normal" with drinking, smoking, drugs, affairs and backstabbing... My life would not be close to what it resembles now. I don't know if my friend Wendy will ever know how much she changed my life just by inviting me to church and introducing me to the missionaries. I now know where I came from, who I am, and where I want to go.

2. Josh - I am finding out 1st hand how much I can NOT live without him. I knew this would be a difficult year, but in the back of my mind I thought, he's gone with work and school and I'm busy with the kids and school we barely see eachother, what is a year apart? What??!! Let me tell you it's a whole lot. I can't live without this man and just don't want to, can't wait to put my arms around my husband and give him a big hug.

1. My kids - and the top thing I could not live without is my children. I don't even know what to write here, other than I am pretty sure I didn't understand the concept of selfless love until my children, I know that I didn't know truely how much I could be happy by just sitting in a room and watching kids play or how sad I could get by watching my son struggle with something. Like the air I breathe, I don't think I could survive without my children...

below average

I'm happy to report, I passed my test on Saturday. I just barely passed with a 72 but I passed!!! I never thought I'd be so excited for a C in any class, but I am. This class is a HARD class and I'm just hoping to pass the class, the 1st time. So for now, I'm happy to be a below average student.

hey, don't judge me...
