Zoo

While Josh was home, we got to go to the zoo and while we were there we got to take a bath...let me explain, we had rain, not just a little, not a lot, it was a downpour!!! But we had fun none the less... we even got to see a Gorilla eat his own poop, yummy and then pick his nose, double yummy...

Josh's Party

Josh came home for R & R for 2 weeks!!! We were sooooo very excited to see him, the kids and his mom and dad went to the airport to pick him up. I knew it was him coming down the hallway just because of his height. The kids were so happy to see their dad, and they had a list of things to do with him.

One of the things was to go to their school with them, dressed in uniform ofcourse and talk about his job, another thing was to take them to see Speed Racer, and they both wanted to have a "daddy date" with Josh. He got to do all these things before leaving to go back to Kuwait!

The timing on Josh's visit for me at least was hard. I had my final in Pathophysiology and really needed to study, not to get a A or B in the class, but to PASS the class (which I did, hip hip hooray). But it meant a lot of time away from Josh and the kids the last week he was there, infact I dropped him off at the airport and went to school to take my final on the same day...

While he was home however, Racheal and Ryan gave Josh a coming home party. It was great, his mom and dad, brother and sister's, Aunt and Uncle, cousins, and others were there. I think he had a really good time seeing everyone, and it saved him from having to spread out his time visiting everyone, which knowing Josh he would have felt obligated to do.

It was very hard on Saturday (the day he left), I was emotionally drained from him leaving and taking my final. Sunday was hard too because it was Father's Day, but I am doing loads better and have kept myself busy with projects and summer stuff...

Summersville

The sign reads it's always Summer in Summersville, WV, and it was true!

Josh came home and he really wanted to take us to Summersville, he'd been a few years back and enjoyed it so much and wanted the boys and I to go for a mini-vacation. I reluctantly accepted going, to be honest, I was just so excited to have Josh home, that I had a long honey to do list for him and additionally I didn't want to drive the 4 hours to get there. But I'm so glad I did, it was a blast.

It was a perfect day, with beautiful blue skys and billowing clouds! We rented a boat for the day and went on the lake, we fished and swam, there was beautiful waterfalls and rocks to climb on. The lake was pretty much empty because it was a Wendesday, we maybe saw 6 other boats on the water. That night we stayed in a hotel and watched Horton hears a Who, and then went to the dam, and watched the river roar, GORGEOUS! We even got to see some people get on the water with their kayaks! We are all excited for our next vacation to go back there.
